‘Dad’ Fashion Cocktail, Perfect For Father's Day

Treat your dad this Father’s day with this delicious twist of the classic whisky cocktail, Old Fashioned. The perfect way to spoil him!

Created in New York in the late 19th century, the ‘Old Fashioned’ cocktail has become a classic cocktail found on most bar menus.

This recipe uses Disaronno and Martini Rosso instead of Angostura bitters to give a slightly sweeter flavour. Using Lakes Distillery fine blend whisky which has a complex and rounded flavour with notes of vanilla, honey, fruit and a touch of spice. The egg white (or aquafaba if you are serving vegan customers) adds a wonderful foam to the top and creates a slightly creamy flavour, making a truly delicious beverage. Perfect for serving as part of your Father’s Day menus!

Ingredients

• 45ml Lakes Distillery fine blend whisky
• 20ml Disaronno 20ml Martini Rosso
• 1 egg white/or 2 tablespoons of aqua faba (vegan alternative)
• 1 Toschi Amarena Cherry
• 1 Botanic & Fruits dried orange slice
• Ice

Method

• Pour the whisky, Disaronno and Martini Rosso into a cocktail shaker. Add your egg white (or aquafaba as a vegan alternative) to the shaker with ice and shake vigorously until well-chilled.
• Strain into a chilled whisky glass.
• Decorate with the amarena cherry and dried orange slice. Serve immediately.
