THE Pâté-Croûte UK FINALS 2024 PRESENTED BY CLASSIC FINE FOODS

- Categories : News & Events

The Pâté-Croûte World Championship is a unique global competition designed to help preserve a centuries-old, French culinary tradition – the artful preparation of Pâté en Croûte. For 15 years, professional cuisine and pastry chefs, bakers, butchers and more have been participating in this famous competition, held yearly at the beginning of December in France.

The Championships brings together professional chefs, pastry artisans, and culinary enthusiasts from around the world to showcase their skills and creativity in crafting exceptional Pâté-Croûte, contributing to helping to preserve this centuries-old, French culinary tradition (literally translated as, pie in crust). Participants prepare their Pâté-Croûte creations using a wide variety of ingredients, including various meats, game, herbs, and spices, all skilfully prepared to create a delicious, beautiful and refined dish.

The event is no longer strictly reserved for French participants. Entries from America, Asia, Polynesia, Europe have made their presence known. The UK made its first debut in 2023 to enter this prestigious competition with its very own selection of contestants.

The very first UK Candidate to take their winning Pâté-Croûte to Lyon for the finals was George Jephson. It was such an honour for the UK to be represented for the first time at this incredible competition.

We are excited to be the Patron for the Second Edition of the Pâté-Croûte World Championship UK Finals.

Presented by Classic Fine Foods, the 2nd UK Finals will be held on Monday October 14th at The Savoy Hotel in London, where 10 contestants will compete to create their best Pâté-Croûte and have the chance to represent the UK at the Final.
