The Lakes Distillery

Established in 2011, The Lakes Distillery are striving to create one of the world’s leading single malt whisky brands, but also use the expertise and skills of the whisky-making team to distil gins, vodka, liqueurs and create blended whiskies.

Based in the heart of the Lake District, The Lakes Distillery utilises its passion and expertise to create premium whisky and other spirits. The company uses cold, pure water from the Lake District National Park in their long and slow distilling process, which influences the flavour of their spirits.

The distillery takes a very holistic approach to whiskey making, with their expert whisky maker overseeing the whole process to ensure the quality of the end product.

The fermentation process takes up to 96 hours, which is double the industry average, to create the desired complexity and depth of flavour to their whisky. The oak and casks used in the maturation process also have a major impact on the flavour of the alcohol, with the distillery favouring ex-sherry casks.
