In 1878, Henry Tate began refining sugar in his London refinery. Four years later, Abram Lyle set up his factory, making the famous Lyle’s Golden Syrup. By 1921, the two businessmen had merged their refineries to create Tate & Lyle.
The company oversees the whole process from refining to selling their sugar, giving them total control over the quality and consistency of their products. The company's state-of-the-art technology and large-scale production provide them with the tools to constantly improve and develop their products.
