West Country
Farmed in the most agricultural area of England, West Country is renowned for the quality of its beef, which is characterised by its tenderness and rich flavour.
In 2014, Protected Geographical Indication was recognised for their beef. The ‘West Country Beef’ scheme has an extensive system to ensure the health and welfare of the cattle. A feed log is required to show that the cattle have been fed on a diet comprising 70% grass and herb forage diet.
Their beef is aged for 21 days minimum to ensure tenderness. It has naturally healthy fats that give a beautiful caramelisation during cooking. It is also high in Omega-3 and rich in Vitamin A and E. Overall, this gives a delicious earthy, beefy flavour, which you can only get from genuine grass-fed beef.
